 Wendy
Priesnitz has been a small business owner since 1974, working for most of
that time from a home office. In 1976, she became co-owner,
with her husband, of The Alternate Press (later to become
known as Life Media), which publishes Natural Life
Magazine. In
the 1980s, she championed women-owned business and home-based business,
traveling across Canada to speak at conferences, writing how-to articles,
presenting in-depth how-to workshops and participating on national
committees to legitimize and legalize home business. In the 1990s, she
taught small business courses for a community economic development
organization, wrote the book Bringing It Home - A Home Business Start-up
Guide for You and Your Family, wrote a weekly
small business newspaper column for ten years, and mentored
women business owners. The following articles are some of
